A Service Disabled Veteran has 29 years of experience in the trucking industry since his release from military services in 1970. Mr. Caldwell founded Caldwell Trucking in 1975, where he began trucking for the logging industry until 1980. In 1980 Mike Caldwell was subcontracted by Steve Harris of Continental Excavating to perform on site transportation and disposal of waste materials from environmental construction and remediation projects until June 2003.
From June 2003 to June 2004 Mr. Caldwell transported assorted hazardous wastes as a sub hauler to World Environmental & Energy, Inc. in the Northern California areas. C&H Veteran Enterprises, Inc. was founded in January 2004. Mr. Caldwell’s equipment experience started with logging trucks then on to End Dumps, 10 Wheelers, and Roll Off Trucks and Trailers. His project history extends from the 1986 Levee break in Sacramento, to Landfill Closures, on site transportation and disposal of assorted wastes, and hazardous waste transportation and disposal.

C&H Veteran Enterprises, Inc. – West Sacramento, CA $20 - $25 an hour C&H Veteran Enterprises, Inc., a waste management and waste transportation service company located in West Sacramento, is recruiting to fill Roll Off Bin Driver positions within our team
The Roll-Off Bin Driver position will be responsible for the safe and compliant operation of the collection and transportation of waste. This position records pick-ups and deliveries on a load manifest and obtains signatures from customers for receipt purposes. Listens to and reports service inquires and complaints. The Driver is responsible for safely operating a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties pertaining to waste collection and disposal. This position is responsible for efficiently servicing assigned customers, while complying with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations and with Company policies
Other duties may be assigned. Operates vehicle in accordance with Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements as well as all local, state and federal requirements and Company expectations for the Fleet; maintains a clean and safe vehicle.
Follow appropriate SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) and guideline for handling hazardous waste
Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle using utilizing standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report); notes all issues on DVIR form for corrective review/repair
Immediately reports any unsafe situations or service calls to Operations Supervisor or Dispatch before attempting service
Complete and maintain waste tracking documents
Follows route assignments throughout the day and completes all documentation when checking-in at the end of the route
Maintain load manifests and all other vehicle documents, ensuring they are properly completed and balanced with truck counts and shipping documents before and after deliveries
Performing safety inspections as required by DOT, and maintaining a DOT driver log and records according to regulations and requirements
Operating Roll Off Bin truck, Rocket Launcher, End Dump, Curtain Van, Tankers, Low Bed
Wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing duties
Reporting all safety issues, incidents, and concerns to company management, as well as notifying supervisor of current or anticipated repair needs
Responsible for making sure all jobs are operated in the most efficient and cost effective manner possible
Knowledge of tractor-trailer and equipment safety.
Knowledge of DOT regulations and requirements
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Works in various temperatures indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions: including extreme heat and cold while wearing various levels of personal protective equipment
Works in atmospheres and locations with the potential for exposure to various chemical and physical agents, some of which may be hazardous, toxic or corrosive
Work in potentially elevated noise levels, confined spaces, including lifting in areas of low clearance. Climbs ladders, scaffolding and into and out of trucks, tanks, and various other containers.
Working at elevations including working from ladders and scaffolding Works extended ( > 8 hrs.) time periods. Note that in emergency response situations these periods can extend beyond 8 hours, up to 12-24 hrs.; Because of the emergency response and operational nature of the position, a continuing condition of employment is that the applicant/candidate acknowledges and agrees to be on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and on occasion will require work during week-ends and holidays.
Class A CDL driver’s license with Double, Tanker and HAZMAT endorsements
Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
